    A very tasteful and powerful product.

    Lately I have been buying almost all my Apple accessories from SATECHI. This product did not disappoint me either. Assembly and installation (I used a Samsung 980 Pro NVMe SSD) is trivial and took only a few seconds. Connecting directly to the Thunderbold port on my MAC mini M1 (2020) I achieved R/W (MB/s) speeds of 847/839 ( measured by BlackMagic Disk Speed Test).

    Solid NVMe Enclosure

    I have a number of Satechi products and had some rewards credit accrued so decided on this to replace a light use enclosure from another supplier. I was very interested in how much heft the enclosure would have to help cool the SSD when in use. It has been great so far and I would still buy one without the rewards credit. Please note that this is a USB 3.1 gen 2 device so the connection is rated to 10gbs, USB is very confusing now as the specs keep changing. What i am seeing with a WD Blue SN550 1TB is around 750MB/s sustained read/write from a Mac Mini TB port. Not too bad considering the theoretical ceiling for gen 2 is 1.2GB/s but just keep note that you may see better or similar results depending on your system and choice of SSD.

    A nice little piece of machine.

    This enclosure like all other Satechi products feels premium the moment you take it on your hand and the performance also speaks for itself. That’s what I fell in love with Satechi in the first place the feel of the products on the hands and the performance. A perfect travel companion.
