Unlock the potential of iPadOS with Satechi

Apple recently announced the upcoming release of the highly anticipated iPadOS along with a list of new features that have the potential to change way iPads are used going forward. These new updates will allow iPad users to work in a variety of new ways. However, to take full advantage of the new iPadOS, users will likely need some new accessories. Here are our top three new features and our list of the best Satechi products to pair with your iPad if you are looking to take advantage of the new update this Fall.

 Data & File Transfer Capabilities

With iPadOS, users will now have the ability to plug external drives into their iPads and the view or access their files in the Files app. This new feature will allow users to access thumb drives, disk drives, SD & micro SD cards with the proper adapters. With the right adapter, users will be able to easily import their photos or video files directly to editing apps such as iMovie and Adobe Lightroom.

Photographers and videographers will also be able to easily access and transfer their media files through the use of the Satechi Aluminum Type-C UHS-II Micro/SD Card Reader Adapter. This card reader features speeds of up to 312MB/s for quick photo downloads, smooth video editing, and fast file transfers. With its small, compact design, this is the perfect accessory for those who enjoy the flexibility of editing on-the-go.

Looking for an adapter that is a bit more extensive when it comes to port options? With the Slim Aluminum Type-C Multi-Port Adapter V2, users will have six additional ports to work with. The Slim Multi-Port V2 comes is small but powerful and comes equipped with a micro SD card reader, SD card reader, USB-C port, 4K HDMI port, and two USB 3.0 ports.  Some features include USB-C Power Delivery with a max output of 60W, dual card reader slots with speeds up to 104Mb/s, and stunning 4K HDMI display with an output up to 4K at 30Hz.

For users who are looking to keep things simple and would like to have an all-in-one hub, the Mobile Pro Hub is your ideal fit. Designed specifically for the 2018 iPad Pro, this hub features stunning 4K 30Hz HDMI display, USB-C PD 3.0 charging, USB 3.0 (up to 5 Gb/s) and a 3.5mm headphone jack, all over a single USB-C connection. Thanks to the new iPadOS users will now be able to use external hard drives to transfer files to and from their iPad. With the Mobile Pro Hub, users can now access external files without having to sacrifice their charging capabilities.

AssitiveTouch: Mouse Support

Another long-awaited feature, that will now be available this fall, is mouse support. While mouse support is not a standard feature, it is available as an AssitiveTouch option in the Accessibility settings of your iPad. Users will now be able to connect a USB mouse to their iPad through the USB port on the Mobile Pro Hub or they look can opt for a wireless option such as our M1 Mouse. Available for $29.99, the Satechi M1 Mouse features a Bluetooth 4.0 connection, rechargeable Type-C port, and modern ergonomic design.

Sidecar

Our third favorite new feature that will be available in iPadOs is Sidecar. With the new update, users will be able to use their iPad as a secondary display. Unfortunately, there are still limitations, but with Sidecar, users will be able to drag windrows from their Mac to their iPad or vice versa. One thing to be aware of is that Sidecar will only work if you are using an Apple Trackpad or an Apple Pencil. Because of this, when using Sidecar, users will not be able to work using most touch gestures. However, users will still be able to use certain touch gestures such as tapping on certain screen control options or scrolling through webpages while using two fingers.

For those users who are looking to use the Sidecar feature with their iMac or MacBook, we would recommend our Aluminum R1 Stand. Designed to elevate your iPad to the optimal viewing height, the R1 stand is the perfect accessory to pair with your Mac setup. With five color options available, users have the option to select a colorway that matches their iPad as well as their MacBook and iMac.
