Satechi Clamp Hub Pro: What you need to know
SAN DIEGO - (March 9, 2018 )- If you have purchased Apple's new iMac Pro, the Satechi Type-C Clamp Hub will make the perfect companion for it. Offering port usage at your fingertips, you don't have to worry about trying to find the ports you need by reaching behind your iMac. Satechi is dedicated to offering products that truly help you live a life made easy. So, we want to provide you with all of the tools you need to enjoy our products at highest capacity.
Let's take a look at some key things you need to know if you are thinking about purchasing, or already own our Type-C Clamp Hub Pro.
Clamp Hub Placement
The Satechi Clamp Hub Pro clamps to the bottom side of the iMac Pro. We have designed hub devices for the previous iMacs that sit at the base of the monitor, but this particular design clamps onto the bottom of the iMac Pro.
You may be wondering what affect does clamping the hub onto the iMac Pro's air vents have on the monitor's ability to overheat. After running multiple tests on the after affects of our Clamp Hub Pro, Satechi can confidently say that there are little to no issues with overheating. Same goes for the iMac Pro internal speakers- the placement of the Clamp Hub has little to no affect on the quality of the speakers.
The device is very light weight with easy assembly.
Ports
The ports available for usage include a USB-C port, 3 USB 3.0 ports (up to 5Gb/s) and Micro/SD card readers- simply plug into a Thunderbolt 3 port on your 2017 iMac/iMac Pro and use the adjustable knob to fasten the hub to the bottom of your desktop computer.
It is important to note the the USB-C port is data only- this port cannot be used for video output or charging devices.
Compatibility
Satechi's Type-C Clamp Hub Pro is designed for the 2017 iMac and iMac Pro only. Other iMac/ iMac Pro models are not compatible with the Clamp Hub Pro. However, Satechi does offer hubs that will work with other iMac/ iMac Pro models, browse our website for those!
